There are more the fifty different species of rabbit, and these species can be further broken down into hundreds of different breeds, some of which are a result of selective breeding to achieve certain traits. Rabbits are herbivores and do not eat meat. Although they are not nocturnal animals, they are more active at dawn and dusk, and frequently nap throughout the day.
Rabbits vary in size and can grow from into a wide variety of sizes, live for between seven and ten years, and are available in many different colours. Rabbits are friendly, sociable pets and enjoy the company of humans and other rabbits.
